The Thurston Foreign Language Program offers students the opportunity to explore other cultures and languages at all three grade levels. Sixth graders who take the Foreign Language Wheel class continue their study of Spanish and are introduced to French and Mandarin Chinese. Seventh and eighth graders may study Spanish and French in a two year elective program that prepares them for advanced study at the high school level. In addition, all students are encouraged to join the after-school program in Mandarin Chinese that begins each October.
