LBUSD celebrated the grand opening of its Family Resource Center on October 18, welcoming parents and staff members to an open house event that focused on showcasing the wide range of school-based mental health and family services available throughout the district.
This week, the CDE released test scores that report the percentage of students meeting state math, English language arts, and science standards statewide as measured by the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress. Scores in both ELA and mathematics surpassed the Orange County average by approximately 22 percent and exceeded the California state-wide average by approximately 32 percent in ELA and 34 percent in mathematics.
LBUSD will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. to commemorate the grand opening of the Laguna Beach Family Resource Center, which will serve as a resource hub dedicated to building LBUSD family engagement by providing community activities, confidential counseling, and support services for student success.
LBUSD will introduce a new teaching position this school year to lead the district’s efforts in integrating environmental literacy education across all disciplines.
On May 23, 2023, at 5 p.m. in the Thurston Middle School Library, the LBUSD Board of Education will hold a Facilities Master Plan Study Session and Workshop. The workshop will allow the community to ask questions and provide additional feedback to the board.
