The Board of Education has approved the concept for an estimated $19 million, 45-meter pool modernization project at LBHS during its regular meeting on October 10. The modernization, a critical upgrade to the existing pool infrastructure, has undergone significant changes since the original plan was presented in March 2023.
The California Department of Education released its statewide assessment results today, with Laguna Beach Unified School District ranking No. 1 among unified districts in Orange County for English language arts, math, and science scores.
LBUSD will provide a unique opportunity for students and community members to engage with local politics as students of LBHS host the 2024 City Council Candidate Forum on October 1. The event, which takes place in the LBHS Artists’ Theater from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will feature candidates Bob Whalen, Judie Mancuso, Hallie Jones, and George Weiss.

LBUSD today announced the appointment of Thomas Turner as the new principal of Top of the World Elementary School and Jennifer Moss as the new Program Specialist for special education services. Turner brings extensive experience in educational leadership, while Moss will support the coordination and implementation of special education services.
