New student enrollment for Laguna Beach Unified School District will open on Wednesday, Feb. 11. 

Summer program dates are now available for students in grades 1–8, grades 9–12, and the LEAD (Learn, Enrich, Advance, Discover) summer program.

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. – Cama Stevens, an elementary visual and performing arts teacher on special assignment in Laguna Beach Unified School District, has been honored with the 2026 Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) Award by the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators (OCMAA). 

LBUSD this week announced its 2025 Employees of the Year, recognizing Randi Beckley, a world language French teacher at Thurston Middle School with 19 years of service, as Teacher of the Year, and Thasa Zuziak, a special education instructional aide at Laguna Beach High School with 12 years of service, as Classified Employee of the Year.

The LBUSD District Offices will be closed to the public from December 22 to 26, December 31, and January 1 for winter break.

LBUSD Vocal Music Presents: Home for the Holidays

Join us for an evening of festive music and holiday cheer as our talented vocal students take the stage for Home for the Holidays!

Families are invited to join LPAPA for the First Thursday Art Walk this week, featuring artwork by LBUSD students who participated in LPAPA’s Our Future Generation Paint Out event. Come enjoy an evening of creativity and community while celebrating the beautiful artwork on display. 

Join us for Math Quest, a fun family night filled with hands-on activities, games, and challenges that make math come alive. Work together, think creatively, and discover just how much fun problem-solving can be!

The Laguna Beach Unified School District Board of Education is forming an AD HOC Arts Committee to explore how the arts can further enrich learning, wellness and community connection in schools. The committee is open to students, parents, educators, artists and community members who wish to apply and participate.

On Monday, the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) announced the recipients of its 2025 National Distinguished Principals program. Among the 43 honorees is El Morro Elementary School Principal Julie Hatchel, Ed.D.
